CVSS v3.1 |
xpointer.c in libxml2 before 2.9.5 (as used in Apple iOS before 10, OS X before 10.12, tvOS before 10, and watchOS before 3, and other products) does not forbid namespace nodes in XPointer ranges, which allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code or cause a denial of service (use-after-free and memory corruption) via a crafted XML document.
Use-after-free vulnerability in bzip2recover in bzip2 1.0.6 allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (crash) via a crafted bzip2 file, related to block ends set to before the start of the block.
Use after free in Windows Storport Miniport Driver allows an unauthorized attacker to execute code over a network.
A flaw was found in libsoup. A malicious HTTP/2 server or a Man-in-the-Middle (MITM) attacker can exploit a heap use-after-free vulnerability in the HTTP/2 client implementation. This occurs when a GNOME application uploads a file using HTTP/2, and the server sends a GOAWAY frame while the file body is being read asynchronously. This can lead to memory corruption, potentially resulting in information disclosure or arbitrary code execution.
| Multiple Use-After-Free vulnerabilities were found in the add_archive_element function in ld/ldmain.c of the GNU linker (ld), a component of binutils. The root cause is that plugin_maybe_claim() in ld/plugin.c frees the original BFD object via bfd_close/_bfd_delete_bfd when entry->the_bfd->my_archive == NULL, but the caller retains both the original abfd parameter and a shallow copy (orig_input.the_bfd) as dangling pointers. These dangling pointers are subsequently dereferenced at three distinct locations in add_archive_element:
1. Line ~1442: accessing abfd->my_archive via bfd_usrdata(abfd->my_archive)
2. Line ~1493: multiple accesses to abfd and abfd->my_archive in a conditional check and bfd_get_filename call
3. Line ~1525: dereferencing the shallow copy orig_input.the_bfd->my_archive in trace/verbose logging
The vulnerability is triggered when LTO plugins are active (link_info.lto_plugin_active is true) and the input object has abfd->my_archive == NULL, which is a valid state for standalone object files. Red Hat builds binutils with --enable-plugins and --enable-lto, confirming the vulnerable code path is compiled in and reachable.
An attacker who can supply a crafted object or archive file to a build process using LTO-enabled linking could exploit this flaw to cause a denial of service (linker crash via segmentation fault). Arbitrary code execution is theoretically possible through heap manipulation but is substantially mitigated by hardening measures including stack protector, FORTIFY_SOURCE, ASLR, and PIE.
The attack surface is limited to build-time environments — the linker is a development tool not exposed in production runtime. The most realistic exploitation scenario is a supply chain attack introducing a crafted object file as a build dependency in CI/CD pipelines or development environments. |
Use-after-free in the DOM: Streams component. This vulnerability was fixed in Firefox 158, Firefox ESR 115.43, Firefox ESR 153.5, Thunderbird 158, and Thunderbird 153.5.
Use-after-free in the Storage: Bucket File System component. This vulnerability was fixed in Firefox 158, Firefox ESR 153.5, Thunderbird 158, and Thunderbird 153.5.
Use-after-free in the JavaScript: WebAssembly component. This vulnerability was fixed in Firefox 158 and Thunderbird 158.
Race condition, use-after-free in the Graphics: Text component. This vulnerability was fixed in Firefox 158, Firefox ESR 153.5, Thunderbird 158, and Thunderbird 153.5.
Libreswan's pluto daemon has a use-after-free vulnerability when a client connecting using IKE over TCP closes the connection and another packet (retransmit or malicious) is received for the same tuple. IKE state is retained in memory after the client closes the connection, storing a pointer to iface_endpoint inside ike_sa.sa->st_iface_endpoint. Once this invalid pointer is used, the daemon crashes and restarts. This vulnerability can be triggered before the remote peer has authenticated itself. Continued exploitation can lead to a denial of service. Remote code execution could be possible. The IKE over TCP option is not enabled by default; only configurations that contain listen-tcp=yes are affected.
Use after free in Windows Security App allows an authorized attacker to elevate privileges locally.
Use after free in Microsoft XML allows an unauthorized attacker to execute code over a network.
KeePassXC is a cross-platform community-driven port of the Windows application KeePass Password Safe. Prior to 2.8.0-beta1, KeePass1 / KDB legacy import retains raw Entry pointers in m_entryUuids after deleting metastream entries. When a crafted, unlockable .kdb file contains an earlier metastream entry followed by a KPX_CUSTOM_ICONS_4 metastream that references the earlier UUID, parseCustomIcons4() calls Entry::setIcon through the stale pointer, causing a heap use-after-free with a controlled write and a reliable process crash. This issue is fixed in version 2.8.0-beta1.
Use-after-free in the DOM: Bindings (WebIDL) component. This vulnerability was fixed in Firefox 158, Firefox ESR 153.5, Thunderbird 158, and Thunderbird 153.5.
Use-after-free in the Widget component. This vulnerability was fixed in Firefox ESR 153.4, Thunderbird 157, Thunderbird 140.17, Thunderbird 153.4, Firefox 157, Firefox ESR 115.42, and Firefox ESR 140.17.
Privilege escalation due to use-after-free in the Graphics: WebGPU component. This vulnerability was fixed in Thunderbird 157 and Firefox 157.
A vulnerability was detected in GPAC up to 26.07.0. This affects the function gf_fq_pop of the file filter_core/filter_queue.c of the component MP4Box. Performing a manipulation results in use after free. The attack may be initiated remotely. The exploit is now public and may be used. The vendor was contacted early about this disclosure but did not respond in any way.
Use-after-free in the DOM: Workers component.
