| CVE-2026-98393 | 1 Linux | 1 Linux Kernel | 2026-10-15 | 5.5 Medium |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net: ipv4: Fix UDP length overflow with PMTU discover and big MTU This commit bounds cork->base.fragsize to IP_MAX_MTU to avoid a possible overflow of UDP length that triggers a WARN in udp_set_len_short when setsockopt IP_MTU_DISCOVER is set to IP_PMTUDISC_PROBE, and a large packet is sent over a netdev with an unusually large MTU. Steps to reproduce: 1. Set device MTU bigger than IP_MAX_MTU + 20. cork->base.fragsize will be set to that MTU in ip_setup_cork. 2. Set IP_MTU_DISCOVER to IP_PMTUDISC_PROBE. It lets maxnonfragsize be set to device MTU (cork->fragsize) in __ip_append_data, rather than to IP_MAX_MTU. 3. Send 65528 bytes of payload (+8 bytes of UDP header, +20 bytes of IPv4 header). Device MTU allows it (it's only one byte bigger than IP_MAX_MTU + IPv4 header, and the device MTU is bigger than that). 4. The UDP length in the built packet is 65536, which overflows the 16-bit length field and triggers the WARN in udp_set_len_short. Note: IP_PMTUDISC_DO with IPv4 is safe, because ip_dst_mtu_maybe_forward always clamps at IP_MAX_MTU, unlike ip6_dst_mtu_maybe_forward. The Fixes tag points at the first commit where I could reproduce the overflow with IPv4 and IP_PMTUDISC_PROBE. | ||||

| CVE-2026-49206 | 2026-10-15 | 2.9 Low | ||
| rapidcsv is a C++ CSV parser library. Prior to 8.99, RemoveColumn, InsertColumn, RemoveRow, InsertRow, and GetColumnNames converted size_t indexes to int before adding them to std::vector iterators. On 64-bit systems, in a CSV matrix dimension containing more than 2^31 elements, an index above INT_MAX could wrap to a negative iterator offset and point before the start of the vector, causing undefined behavior, heap memory corruption, or a crash. Triggering the issue requires an extremely large in-memory document, requiring tens of gigabytes of memory at minimum, so typical CSV documents are not practically affected. This issue is fixed in version 8.99. | ||||

| CVE-2026-53615 | 2026-10-15 | 8 High | ||
| util-linux is a random collection of Linux utilities. Before util-linux 2.41.4, `parse_dos_extended()` in `libblkid/src/partitions/dos.c` computes an extended-partition start sector with 32-bit addition and does not apply the extended-area bounds checks to the first two EBR entries. A local attacker who causes a crafted DOS extended-partition disk image or removable medium to be probed can wrap `cur_start + start` to sector zero and cause libblkid to report a false partition overlapping the MBR. This directly compromises the integrity of the reported partition metadata; disk modification or availability loss requires a separate downstream consumer to act on that metadata. This issue is fixed in 2.41.4. | ||||

| OpenS100 through commit 2b1dafc contains an integer overflow vulnerability in the S-102 Bathymetric Surface parser. An attacker can supply a crafted S-102 HDF5 file with malicious grid dimension metadata that causes memory corruption when a user opens it. In the S102_VG_BathymetryCoverage::Read() function, the numPointsLatitudinal and numPointsLongitudinal values are multiplied without validation, and the 32-bit result can wrap around, producing an undersized heap buffer allocation. Subsequent writes past the end of that buffer cause a heap-based buffer overflow, leading to an application crash or potential arbitrary code execution in the context of the user who opened the file. | ||||

| CVE-2026-80546 | 1 Linux | 1 Linux Kernel | 2026-10-15 | 7.8 High |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: s390/zcrypt: Improve CCA CPRB length and overflow checks The xcrb_msg_to_type6cprb_msgx() function lacks proper input validation, creating security vulnerabilities: 1. Integer overflow after CEIL4 alignment: Signed int variables could overflow during 4-byte boundary alignment, causing undersized buffer allocations or incorrect bounds checking. 2. Missing minimum size validation: The CPRBX structure is copied from userspace without verifying sufficient buffer length. Undersized buffers cause uninitialized memory access when reading structure fields like cprbx.cprb_len and cprbx.domain. 3. Arithmetic overflow in sum calculations: Adding control block and data block sizes could overflow, bypassing size checks and enabling buffer overflows. Fix by using size_t for length calculations, adding U32_MAX boundary checks after alignment, validating minimum control block size before copying from userspace, and detecting sum calculation overflows. | ||||
| CVE-2026-52948 | 1 Linux | 1 Linux Kernel | 2026-10-15 | 5.5 Medium |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: i2c: dev: prevent integer overflow in I2C_TIMEOUT ioctl While fuzzing with Syzkaller, a persistent `schedule_timeout: wrong timeout value` warning was observed, accompanied by SMBus controller state machine corruption. The I2C_TIMEOUT ioctl accepts a user-provided timeout in multiples of 10 ms. The user argument is checked against INT_MAX, but it is subsequently multiplied by 10 before being passed to msecs_to_jiffies(). A malicious user can pass a large value (e.g., 429496729) that passes the `arg > INT_MAX` check but overflows when multiplied by 10. This results in a truncated 32-bit unsigned value that bypasses the internal `(int)m < 0` check in `msecs_to_jiffies()`. The truncated value is then assigned to `client->adapter->timeout` (a signed 32-bit int), which is reinterpreted as a negative number. When passed to wait_for_completion_timeout(), this negative value undergoes sign extension to a 64-bit unsigned long, triggering the `schedule_timeout` warning and causing premature returns. This leaves the SMBus state machine in an unrecoverable state, constituting a local Denial of Service (DoS). Fix this by bounding the user argument to `INT_MAX / 10`. | CVE-2026-46331 | 1 Linux | 1 Linux Kernel | 2026-10-15 | 7.8 High |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net/sched: fix pedit partial COW leading to page cache corruption tcf_pedit_act() computes the COW range for skb_ensure_writable() once before the key loop using tcfp_off_max_hint, but the hint does not account for the runtime header offset added by typed keys. This can leave part of the write region un-COW'd. Fix by moving skb_ensure_writable() inside the per-key loop where the actual write offset is known, and add overflow checking on the offset arithmetic. For negative offsets (e.g. Ethernet header edits at ingress), use skb_cow() to COW the headroom instead. Guard offset_valid() against INT_MIN, where negation is undefined. | ||||
| CVE-2026-46294 | 1 Linux | 1 Linux Kernel | 2026-10-15 | 7.8 High |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: dm: fix a buffer overflow in ioctl processing Tony Asleson (using Claude) found a buffer overflow in dm-ioctl in the function retrieve_status: 1. The code in retrieve_status checks that the output string fits into the output buffer and writes the output string there 2. Then, the code aligns the "outptr" variable to the next 8-byte boundary: outptr = align_ptr(outptr); 3. The alignment doesn't check overflow, so outptr could point past the buffer end 4. The "for" loop is iterated again, it executes: remaining = len - (outptr - outbuf); 5. If "outptr" points past "outbuf + len", the arithmetics wraps around and the variable "remaining" contains unusually high number 6. With "remaining" being high, the code writes more data past the end of the buffer Luckily, this bug has no security implications because: 1. Only root can issue device mapper ioctls 2. The commonly used libraries that communicate with device mapper (libdevmapper and devicemapper-rs) use buffer size that is aligned to 8 bytes - thus, "outptr = align_ptr(outptr)" can't overshoot the input buffer and the bug can't happen accidentally | ||||
| CVE-2026-46209 | 1 Linux | 1 Linux Kernel | 2026-10-15 | 7.8 High |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: drm/gem: Fix inconsistent plane dimension calculation in drm_gem_fb_init_with_funcs() drm_gem_fb_init_with_funcs() computes sub-sampled plane dimensions using plain integer division: unsigned int width = mode_cmd->width / (i ? info->hsub : 1); unsigned int height = mode_cmd->height / (i ? info->vsub : 1); However, the ioctl-level framebuffer_check() in drm_framebuffer.c uses drm_format_info_plane_width/height() which round up dimensions via DIV_ROUND_UP(). This inconsistency corrupts the subsequent GEM object size check for certain pixel format and dimension combinations. For example, with NV12 (vsub=2) and a 1-pixel-tall framebuffer the GEM size validation path sees height=0 instead of height=1. The expression (height - 1) then wraps to UINT_MAX as an unsigned int, causing min_size to overflow and wrap back to a small value. A tiny GEM object therefore passes the size guard, yet when the GPU accesses the chroma plane it will read or write memory beyond the object's bounds. Fix by replacing the open-coded divisions with drm_format_info_plane_width() and drm_format_info_plane_height(), which use DIV_ROUND_UP() and match the calculation already used in framebuffer_check(). | ||||
